Phew, epic series of posts! Learned a lot about Eintracht.

On the topic of Hasebe's dribbling exploits: found this highlight pack from his days as a dribbly #8/#10 player back in Japan. He just has to line up as a striker once before he retires, since he got the keeper cameo out of the way at Wolfsburg.

ah thanks, this is really great! I've liked him for a while now and it helps that he is always super nice in the mixed zone. Like I was at some random match away to Wolfsburg or smth a couple years ago and there were a few Japanese journalists and Hasebe did like 20 minutes with them, right out of the tunnel.

Oh yeah, that is super on brand for him. Being national team captain meant Hasebe's always been one to say all the right things and present a spotless public image. I think retiring from international football has not only extended his club career but also freed him up mentally to be a central figure on the field, after years of toiling as a sort of utility player in the Bundesliga.
